Gastritis

It is an inflammation in the stomach that is perceived as a burning sensation in the upper abdomen.

Physical causes :

  • Bad eating habits;

  • Ingestion of alcoholic beverages;

  • Smoking;

  • Soft drinks;

  • Excessive intake of caffeine (coffee and some types of teas);

  • Helicobacter pylori infection;

  • Bad eating habits:

    • Chew food a little;

    • Drink liquids with meals;

    • Ingestion of heavy foods after 7 pm;

  • Some remedies (ex: acetylsalicylic acid, most anti-inflammatory drugs);

Symptoms

  • Bellyache;

  • Heartburn;

  • Burning sensation in the stomach;

  • Feeling sick;

  • Lack of appetite;

  • Weight loss.

Risk factors
- Genetic predisposition

Emotional causes :

  • Anxiety;

  • Nervousness and irritation often. These are changes in the body accompanied by intense mental activity that normally result in a high level of stress;

  • Anger;

  • Excessive worries or suffers from anticipation;

  • Contrariety.

Emotional causes are perceived in our body as:

  • Chest pain or tightness and increased heartbeat;

  • Wheezing or shortness of breath;

  • Increased sweat;

  • Tremors in the hands or other parts of the body;

  • Feeling of weakness or fatigue;

  • Dry mouth;

  • Bitter taste;

  • Heartburn;

  • Cold or sweaty hands and feet;

  • Nausea;

  • Loss of energy.

Associated behavioral :

Usually associated with a difficulty in dealing with annoyances arising from a situation or person. Depending on their temperament, some passively swallow the situation ("swallowing frogs") or demonstrate intense aggressive attitudes, acting in an untimely manner. Both situations cause an increase in the secretion of the gastric sulcus, but passively swallowing a situation is usually more harmful. Your unconscious interprets this situation as a lack of respect for your own person.

In the case of stomach ailments we must ask ourselves the following questions:

  • What can I not or do not want to swallow?

  • Is something grinding me inside?

  • How do I deal with my feelings?

  • What makes me so sour?

  • How do I express my aggression?

  • How do I escape conflict?

  • What is worrying me?

  • Am I focused on the problems?

  • Am I feeling frustrated?

  • Am I being upset?

  • Have you refused to accept situations?

Let's see how foot reflexology addresses gastritis!

Gastritis can be detected by the presence of a hardened or sensitive part of the skin in the reflex area corresponding to the stomach (see circles in red).

For no pathology, standard therapy is sufficient. By the feet we will look for signs that show the root of the problem.

This information will be the basis for building an efficient therapy.

However, for illustrative purposes, I will talk about a basic therapy for treating gastritis. Basic points to be stimulated:

If there is reflux reflux, add stimuli to the cardia reflex area.

If accompanied by indigestion, add stimuli to the reflex areas of the intestines of the pancreas and diaphragm.

If there are indications of impairment of the duodenum, stimuli should be added in the reflex regions of the duodenum and pancreas .

Reflexology treatment is not recommended when bleeding is diagnosed in any part of the digestive system (except hemorrhoids). Reflexology stimulates blood circulation and can aggravate the condition. Prior medical treatment of bleeding is recommended to initiate treatment.
