How is a session?

A typical treatment is carried out in a period that varies from 45 to 60 minutes depending on what will have to be treated by the technique. In the first consultation, the health history of the interactant will be surveyed and characteristics of their lifestyle and emotional aspects will be surveyed. I will use this information to personalize the therapy.

The Interactor will remove your shoes and socks and will be instructed to stand so that I can assess characteristics and marks present on the dorsal part of the feet. Then, you will sit in a reclining chair where I will evaluate the feet of the plantar part and check, before any stimulus, marks and signs that are related to the main complaint. The following will be observed:

  • Peeling;

  • Lines;

  • Skin coloring;

  • Calluses;

  • Nail and skin mycoses;

  • Cracks in the skin;

  • Bubbles;

  • Stains;

  • Pints;

  • Skin condition (dry, normal, withered);

  • Bruises;

  • Shells;

  • Nail shape;

  • Bone changes (eg bunions)

  • Alignment of fingers.

The feet mark the state of balance of physical and emotional health, and at each signal I will question the interactor to validate my observations against the main complaint. Next, I will stimulate at various points to identify the sensitivity of specific reflex points.

After the evaluation, I will carry out therapies that I deem appropriate for the effects of the technique to be achieved. At each point pressed, the interactant will be asked about the degree of pain intensity and will address physical and emotional aspects related to the procedure being performed. The pressure will be applied with the thumb or index finger. A metallic instrument will also be used to measure a more intense pressure and focused on specific points. I will make use of moisturizing lotion during the realization of therapies with the hands to facilitate the application and to promote a greater comfort for the interactant.

The ability to read feet is developed using our eyesight as well as through the sense of touch. It is a technique and can be learned, but the therapeutic experience helps to improve our sensitivity. The more time we spend looking at our feet, the more sensitive our eyes become to reading their various textures and shades. As a technician, we need to learn to really look and study the feet instead of just seeing them.
